South Post Oak Recycling Center is a family owned and operated business since 1994. We recycle and buy nonferrous and ferrous metals as well as electronics. We've been a trusted partner and recycler to numerous companies and people for over 26 years. Essential Job Responsibilities

The Sales / Business Development Manager will develop and implement strategies to drive sales and business growth. This position will :

  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives identifying target markets, customer segments, and potential opportunities for expansion.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations and build relationships with potential clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to foster business growth.
  • Actively seek out and acquire new clients for the company's recycling services. Conduct market research, lead generation, and cold calling to identify and connect with potential customers.
  • Understand client needs, provide solutions, and address any concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to potential clients that highlights benefits and value of the company's recycling services and differentiate them from competitors.
  • Ensure contract terms are clearly defined and met by both parties.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and potential threats to refine sales strategies and stay ahead in the market.
  • Track sales performance, prepare regular reports, and present sales data to management. Analyze sales metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, marketing, and finance to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and business development efforts.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build relationships, stay updated on industry developments, and promote the company's services.

Competencies you must have

  • Industry knowledge. A strong understanding of the recycling industry to effectively communicate the value and benefits of the company's offerings to potential clients.
  • Negotiation. Understanding customer requirements, identifying win-win solutions, and negotiating terms and contracts that benefit both parties.
  • Sale strategy and planning. Developing and executing effective sales strategies is vital for success. Sales professionals should be able to analyze market trends, set goals, and create actionable plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation : Ability to identify and pursue potential clients to prospect, lead generation, and qualifying leads to focus efforts on the most promising opportunities.
  • Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, environmental science, or a related field, certifications in sales, business development, or recycling management or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in sales and business development roles, preferably in the recycling industry or a related field, and has a track record of achieving sales targets, acquiring new clients, and driving revenue growth.
  • A strong understanding of the recycling industry, including its processes, materials, market trends, and environmental regulations.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts, pricing terms, and closing deals with clients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and calendar management systems.
