The Volunteer Event Decor Coordinator will work closely with the event planning team to design, set up, and manage the event décor. This is a hands-on role, and the volunteer will help ensure the event space is visually appealing, on-brand, and aligned with the theme of the event. You will have the opportunity to use your creativity and organizational skills to help create an impactful experience for attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Theme Coordination: Work with the event team to develop a cohesive décor concept that aligns with the event theme and goals.
- Decorative Design: Assist in designing and organizing décor elements such as floral arrangements, banners, signage, table settings, centerpieces, and lighting.
- Space Layout: Help plan and arrange the layout of the event space to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Set-Up and Installation: Assist in physically setting up and installing décor on the day of the event, ensuring everything is placed according to the design plan.
- Material Sourcing: Help source and procure necessary materials, props, and décor items within the event budget.
- On-Site Support: Be available on the day of the event for décor adjustments, troubleshooting, and to ensure that the setup runs smoothly.
- Tear-Down: Assist with the disassembly of décor at the conclusion of the event, ensuring all items are properly stored or returned.
- Collaboration: Work with other volunteers and event coordinators to ensure timely and efficient set-up and smooth operation during the event.
- Skills:
- Creativity and attention to detail with a passion for event design and décor.
- Previous experience in event planning or décor (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to be hands-on and assist with physical tasks, such as lifting and arranging décor.
- Basic knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Pinterest) or event styling is a plus.
