Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle medical collections and process payments accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Educate clients on services offered, including preventive care, vaccinations, and treatments.
- Manage inventory of office supplies and veterinary products as needed.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills or experience:
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Experience in medical collection processes within a veterinary or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including dog handling, equine care, and general animal husbandry practices.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures related to veterinary care is advantageous.
- Previous experience in veterinary critical care or kennel management is a plus but not required.
