Summary:
Responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, security and structural systems and elements of resort buildings and facilities.
Position Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma/GED, supplemented by technical or college course work training in a trade
Experience:
Background with working at a hotel/resort or related is preferred
(2) years of journey-level work in facilities, plant construction, plant operations, or maintenance and repair; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).
Required:
Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not limited to)
Mobility to work in a construction and maintenance setting; agility to use typical trade equipment, hand and power tools and standard office equipment; stamina to stand, walk and climb and to work in awkward spaces for an extended period of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over a radio or telephone.
Skills and Abilities:
- Fluent in English language, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks during the work shift.
- Must show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
- Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast paced environment.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.
- Ability to work independently.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Engineers work in fast paced environments. This job may require you to stand for long hours. Work is subject to exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, electrical currents, gases, dust, and noxious odors.
HOURS REQUIRED 40 hours a week; flexible schedule; days and times may vary based on need including weekends and/or holidays. Shifts may be 7AM - 3PM and/or 3PM - 11PM time frame.
