Develops and manages larger and more complex relationships in the Commercial Loan Department with primary focus on C&I borrowers. The role focuses on enhancing credit management and driving business development. It is instrumental in fostering the growth and expansion of the Commercial Loan Department. Responsibilities may include conducting research to guide decision-making and analyzing various levels of risk to assess potential losses. The role also involves recommending alternative lending strategies during periods of adverse financial trends.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in banking and finance, economics, or related degree field such as business finance; or ten - fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong background in business math, business law, and analytical and comparison skills is recommended. A combination of formal bank credit training or previous work experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents and common scientific and technical journals. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
Language Skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Generates loans, deposits and new commercial accounts through active business development.
- Works with the Chief Commercial Banking Officer and Commercial Banking Team Leads to further build the C&I portfolio.
- Focuses primarily on C&I prospects including owner-occupied real estate mortgages.
- Establishes a robust referral network of accountants, attorneys and other professionals within the market area.
- Analyzes, underwrites and presents credit recommendations for commercial loans of all types with emphasis on C&I and owner occupied commercial real estate loans.
- Analysis will include in-depth review of business and individual financial statements, tax returns and other relevant credit information including collateral analysis.
- Manages and services accounts within portfolio through timely collection and analysis of financial and other information to ensure ongoing compliance with loan covenants and general credit risk standards.
- May present requests to management and the Loan Approval Committee when the loan is beyond departmental authority.
- Processes requests to advance funds from lines of credit by reviewing borrowing base certificates and other financial information, etc.
- Interacts with customers independently to address non-routine servicing matters or other risk related issues.
- Prepares term sheets and commitment letters and interact with attorneys, etc. in order to prepare for and close loans per the approved loan terms.
- Effectively cross-sells bank products and services.
- Develops solid knowledge of market for marketing and portfolio management purposes.
- Recommends improvements to loan policy.
- Provides input for development of the annual budget and strategic plan for the department.
- Participates in community affairs and attends events (can be after work hours as needed), to increase the bank's visibility and enhance client and community relationships.
- Ensures compliance, within area of responsibility, with bank policies as well as Federal, State and local laws.
- Embraces new and emerging technologies to enhance operations and better serve clients by remaining flexible, learning quickly, and adapting to change.
- Completes all internal Bank training as assigned and required.
- Adheres to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.
