South Shore Technical is seeking a full time Custodian to join our maintenance and custodial staff in maintaining our buildings and providing staff and students with a clean, safe school building. Motivated individual with a willingness to train on processes of efficient cleaning techniques assigned to the afternoon/evening shift that features after school activities and assist with set up and breakdown of events, and may include an occasional weekend for special school events or emergency/weather related assignments. Qualifications: 1.Two years of related experience and knowledge of facility cleaning and the use of a variety of cleaning chemicals is preferred. 2.
Mechanical ability to detect and perform minor building repairs with hand tools a plus.3. Licensed Massachusetts School Bus Driver preferred, or qualified to obtain a Massachusetts School Bus Driver license.4. Possession of 2A Hydraulic License preferred; ability to obtain license required. Training is provided.
Position Goal: To maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment for all students and staff.Performance Responsibilities: 1. Clean and maintain the facility to the high standard of the School District.2. Assist staff, students and visitors to the facility during shift hours.3. Ability to work independently and as part of a work team.4.
Availability to assume overtime duties as needed.5. Ability to perform snow removal duties and run various types of seasonal equipment.6. Availability to transport students as needed.This position reports to the Facilities Director and/or Principal, Assistant Principal. Candidates must be eligible and willing to become licensed as a Massachusetts School Bus Driver within six months of hire.(Mass.
School Bus Drivers have a Commercial Driver's License with"S" and "P" endorsements.) Paid training for school bus driver licensure is provided; The District also reimburses expenses associated with maintenance of school bus driver license. Shift: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Hourly pay starting at $25.88, based on relevant work experience and training. This is a benefits-eligible, union position with membership in the Plymouth County Retirement System.
