Description
The Inclusion Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director Day Camp with implementation of inclusion programming, relevant training and promotion of the Inclusion Initiative throughout the association.
Reports to: Director Day Camp

Provide volunteers with orientation, training, development and recognition. Reports directly to Director of Inclusion providing a unique and necessary assessment of programming and procedures which helps to guide upper level strategic planning for overall association.
People Oriented Effectively communicate with audiences of all levels; listen for understanding when dealing with conflict; provide staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and support. Utilization and promotion of positive support techniques.
Results Oriented Provides guidance for launching programs and framework for making decisions. Develops plans and manages best practices through team engagement and holds staff accountable for high quality results. Effectively manages budgets and cultivates relationships to support fundraising. Stays current on the latest research, practices and trends in the inclusion field, makes recommendations for integration into YMCA offerings.
Personal Development Seeks to effectively model and promote established best practices, addresses sensitive issues, and provides strategies to improve performance. Facilitate change and models adaptability and awareness of its impact.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, Child Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Computer experience required: Microsoft office suite including Word & Excel. Training in internal operating software provided.
- The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with, staff, children & families.
- Effective teaching skills, the ability to implement methods to address and follow up with member needs/concerns appropriately and reflecting an attitude that values diversity is required.
- Demonstrates skills in staff and volunteer development, planning, and supervision.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate poise professionalism with staff, parents, participants and other professionals.
