- Support the successful implementation of curriculum review and adoption by guiding the process, ensuring alignment with state standards, and providing leadership on how to effectively integrate new curricular materials.
- Work collaboratively with the Instruction and Achievement Coordinator, who will focus on selecting instructional tools and resources, while the Assistant Director ensures educators have the training, structures, and support needed for effective implementation.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of district curriculum, ensuring equitable access to rigorous, standards-based instruction for all students.
- Provide leadership in the implementation of International Baccalaureate (IB) principles and career-and-college readiness initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional development for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators.
- Support the development and implementation of new teacher induction and mentorship programs.
- Guide the development of student learning goals based on state standards and district initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of coaching models to support teacher leaders in strengthening instructional practices, in partnership with site leaders.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of culturally responsive and racially competent practices to support equitable learning outcomes.
- Oversee the implementation of the Achievement & Integration Plan, ensuring alignment with district strategic goals and state requirements.
- Support and coordinate district-wide efforts related to racial and biased harm protocols, affinity spaces, and equity-focused initiatives.
- Provide leadership and oversight of programs that support diverse student populations, including Multilingual Learners (MLLs), the Bilingual/Biliteracy Seal, the Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC), cultural liaisons, and community partnerships.
- Coordinate the district’s data cycle, ensuring staff use a variety of data sources (e.g., achievement, demographic, perception) to inform instructional decisions.
- Lead program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instructional initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in grant writing and resource allocation to support instructional programs.
- Provide leadership in implementing district-wide instructional initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and access for all students.
- Maintain active participation in local, regional, and national networks of educational leaders.
- Advocate for policies and practices that support culturally and racially competent instruction.
- Review school board policies related to equity and learning to ensure alignment with current practices, legal requirements and district goals. Lead review and recommendation process in collaboration with stakeholders.
