Asphalt Paver Operator

Summary:

Paving machine operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt paver.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure one self, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
• Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
• Overtime as requested.
• Be able to work nights and weekends if needed.

Requirements:

• 2 to 3 years' experience operating a Paver is required.
• Knowledge of Paver and other heavy equipment.
• Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
• Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Be willing to work overtime when required.
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Heavy Equipment Operation
• Demonstrate professionalism
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Knowledge of site grades

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Physical Setting:

• Outdoor work

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Brownsville, TX 78521 (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Brownsville, TX 78521: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
