Description
The candidate can expect to teach a broad range drama and humanities courses determined by the evolving needs of the department. Experience teaching diverse students at various levels of college-preparedness and non-traditional students is highly desirable.
Typical Qualifications
- M.A. in Film Studies, Fine Art, Communication; knowledge or working experience with film pre-production, production and postproduction; graduate course work in film history and or appreciation; professional/academic experience with film critique and/or analysis;
- 1-2 years’ experience in teaching film history and/or appreciation (or related Humanities based courses) at the college level.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in ability, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Supplemental Information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three to four years teaching drama and theater courses at a community college.
- Experience with academic outcomes assessment, date collection, and analysis.
- Experience with our (LMS) learning management system (D2L) desire to learn.
This is a part-time adjunct position with salary to be determined by placement on the faculty salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
