Job Summary

South Tech Systems is seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various electrical systems, primarily in the Telecommunications industry. This role involves working on various commercial projects, ensuring that all electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with local codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Utilize various tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and hand tools to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
  • Work with high voltage and low voltage systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to complete projects efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Travel up to 75% (home every Friday-Sunday)
  • Lift at least 75 lbs.
  • Push or pull cables up to 60 lbs.
  • Climb ladders up to 8 ft
  • Work / stand on ladders for long periods of time
  • Stand continuously
  • Frequently reach above, below, or at shoulder level
  • Frequently bend, twist, or stoop
  • Frequently crouch or squat
  • Be exposed to a central office / cable office environment with moderate noise levels and nominal variations in heat and cold
  • Expected hours : 30 – 50 per week
