What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at South Texas Bone and Joint?
A Medical Assistant (MA) is an important part of our team. As an MA, you will work directly with an orthopedic surgeon, or an orthopedic physician's assistant in order to help with patient intake and manage an effective patient workflow.
High school diploma and 1-2 year experience in a medical office preferred but not mandatory, and certification as a medical assistant preferred/not required, new graduates will be considered. (Please review the required tasks below). The chosen candidate will also be required to complete a course in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
Your hours will be varied and sometimes extend beyond the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Medical Assistant Tasks
- Patient Intake
- Organizing and sanitizing patient rooms
- Assist in managing patient workflow
- Cleaning and maintaining supplies in patient room
- Answering phones and scheduling patients might be required
- Provide fitting for Durable Medical Equipment.
- Performing clinical tasks
