SUMMARY The Director of Constituent Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage, recognize, and steward donors, alumni, and other key constituents of the law school. This position oversees donor recognition efforts, manages donor societies, and ensures impactful stewardship that strengthens relationships and enhances philanthropic support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and execute a comprehensive donor stewardship program to recognize and retain donors at all giving levels.
Work independently to develop and oversee implementation of a donor stewardship matrix, outlining recommended communications and recognition opportunities for gifts of all levels.
Manage all donor societies, ensuring meaningful engagement and retention strategies.
Collaborate with the database team to ensure a seamless and efficient gift acknowledgement process.
In collaboration with front line fundraisers, develop tiered stewardship plans tailored to different donor segments, from annual fund contributors to major and planned giving donors.
Oversee all donor recognition initiatives, including naming opportunities, donor walls and signage, and printed communication recognizing supporters of the law school.
Oversee development and production of an annual donor impact report, recognizing our donors’ contributions to the South Texas community and telling stories to inspire others to give as well.
Manage systems to ensure timely holiday and birthday greetings to donors, alumni, and friends of the school.
In close collaboration with Advancement Services, manage all endowed fund and scholarship reporting, with the goal of providing donors with transparent, personalized updates on the impact of their support.
Collaborate with the Alumni Engagement and Communications teams to create newsletters, reports, and digital content that highlight donor impact and law school achievements.
Coordinate with faculty and leadership to involve them in donor stewardship and alumni engagement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will supervise at least one FTE (Senior Manager, Advancement Communications).

Exceptional writing skills with an eye for creativity and great attention to detail. Service oriented with ability to make all visitors feel welcome. Must have a collaborative approach to working with others. Must have excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in windows-based software, including word processing, spreadsheet skills, and ability to learn new software programs as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform multi-tasking duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of seven years professional experience in Advancement/Philanthropy, preferably in higher education or other similarly complex institution.
