Summary of Position:
Researches and resolves outstanding medical accounts receivable by utilizing insurance websites and calling insurance carriers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Contacts insurance companies and patients regarding unpaid claims
• Working various denials from insurances including coverage in question, medical necessity, re-bundled, non-covered, incorrect coding, etc.
• Follow up on outstanding medical A/R with no response from the insurance carriers
• Credentialing denials
• Ability to identify denial trends
• Mail return research
• Required to meet departmental quality and production standards
• Incoming patient and insurance correspondence
• Turns uncollected accounts to the collection agencies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None
Experience/Skill Requirements:
• Prior medical A/R experience required
• Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Types at least 45 wpm
• Must be detail oriented
• Team player
• Proficient computer skills (excel, word)
• General knowledge of ICD-10
Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
