What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Football Coach position at South Umpqua High School?
South Umpqua High School has two Assistant Football Coach positions available. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about mentoring youth and contributing to a positive team culture.
Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of planning, organizing, and supervising the football program.

Support the implementation of practice plans, game strategies, and player development.

Promote good sportsmanship, academic achievement, and team unity.

Ensure player safety through proper supervision and adherence to safety protocols.

Attend all practices, games, team meetings, and required training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:

Prior coaching experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of football techniques, strategies, and player development.

Must meet all Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) coaching certification requirements.

Demonstrated knowledge of injury prevention, athletic conditioning, and skill instruction.

Experience as a football player at the high school or higher level is desirable.

Current First Aid and CPR certification required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
