What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Advanced Math Teacher position at South Umpqua High School?
South Umpqua School District has two openings at South Umpqua High School for a math teacher for the 2025/2026 school year. This position will teach Algebra II, Calculus, and College Algebra
Douglas County is located in Southern Oregon along the I-5 corridor. Our School District consists of 5 schools serving students from the communities of Canyonville, Myrtle Creek, and Tri-City.
Duties/Assignment:
The primary purpose of this position is the instruction and supervision of assigned students keeping within the law, board policies, and administrative regulations. A primary focus is the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement while considering the developmental level of the individual student. Instruction and supervision include student guidance, classroom management, and knowledge in subject areas taught and District standards. This is demonstrated by appropriate curriculum design, instructional practices, and student progress assessments.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold or qualify for an Oregon Teaching Certificate, with subject area endorsement and grade level authorization.
- Criminal history clearance.
