What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drywall Detail Technician position at South Valley Services?
The Drywall Detail Technician is a skilled trade in drywall finishing, drywall hanging, and repair of commercial and residential construction. The Detail Technician is capable of hanging, finishing to a level 5, and texturing. Identify drywall imperfections and complete repair, matching textures to blend with existing surfaces. The company will provide training, testing, skill proficiency, and performance assessments as a skilled professional. Completing all trade, hazard awareness, and safety training is required to maintain employment. Good work ethic.
Requirements :
- Must be punctual, flexible, be able to do overtime work as needed, and work in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Screening : After acceptance of the job offer must pass a strength and agility test. If the applicant does not pass, the job offer is withdrawn.
- IT Technology : Must function and communicate with a cell phone, mobile device apps, GPS, and send / receive emails.
- Tools : Apprentice will own basic tools. Journeyman and Master Drywall Detail Technician must own more advanced tools of the trade.
The keys to success in this position are the willingness to learn :
cut drywall to the correct size for repair and screw in place
put drywall tape on walls and ceilings
apply tape to joints and angles
match texture either by hand or hopper and compressor
