Description: South Windsor Public Schools is seeking an instructional reading paraeducator who will work at Orchard Hill Elementary School. This paraeducator will work collaboratively with reading interventionists to assist and guide students to reinforce reading skills. It is classified as a nine and one-half (9.5) months, 19.5 hours per week.
South Windsor is a diverse community of approximately 27,000 citizens and more than 5,000 public school students. SWPS is comprised of four elementary schools, one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12), all of which cultivate and support culturally responsive classrooms and learning communities. The ongoing work of our teachers and staff includes the creation of enriching experiences that expand the depth of knowledge for students beyond today's classroom in order to produce graduates with the 21st century skills needed to make them college or career ready.

Qualifications: Previous experience working with school age children is desired. Applicant must possess an associate's degree, two years of college credits, or have passed the ParaPro exam.
Salary: Entry rate is $17.49 per hour with an increase to $18.56 per hour after 6 months. Prior experience in a comparable role will be considered. Benefits are not offered.
