POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The member wellbeing staff are part of a team responsible for the overall delivery of excellent customer service to all members, guests and participants. The position is responsible for the promotion and sale of programs and services, orientation and safety around equipment, as well as supervision and care for children.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide a welcoming environment; professionally answering the phone and greeting people entering or leaving with a smile and enthusiasm.
- Building Relationships: Learning members names, assisting/coaching members, making everyone feel welcome
- Implement policies and procedures with emphasis on excellent customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of all Y programs and services; promote participation and accurately respond to inquiries.
- Ability to lead programs
- Provide member service that includes, but is not limited to: facility entry check-in, answering phones, membership and program registration, member inquiries, membership sales and accurate reconciliation of the cash drawer.
- Perform the opening and closing procedures in a timely manner of the facility.
- Conduct wellness center orientations.
- Help maintain cleanliness of the facility throughout the day, as well as complete closing cleaning procedures.
- Knowledgeable in strength & conditioning and cardiovascular training along with the ability to apply during wellness orientations and program planning.
- Maintain required program records.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor; such as cause driven tours, member appreciation days, membership drive, special events and other duties as assigned.
- Be prompt for scheduled shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Knowledge of computer systems, including personal computers and applications. Previous experience with Microsoft Office products a plus.
- Excellent customer service, sales, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from the community.
- Ability to take initiative and respond to a variety of situations and manage several tasks and projects at the same time.
- Must be able to efficiently operate a multi-line phone system, copier, off-set printer and fax machine.
- Previous experience handling a cash drawer is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to complete YMCA online Leadership Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Complete Shaken Baby Syndrome training prior to first day of work.
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Complete Y-USA Strength & Conditioning Certification within 90 days of hire
