What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern Technical Services (Mining Engineer) position at South32?
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a (Permanent) Hybrid position from (Tucson, Az)
As the (Intern Technical Services), you will be responsible for supporting the Technical Services team during the 2025 summer season.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to :
- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of mine development design, stope design, zone design, waste management.
- Provide support for trade off studies, such as conveyor to crusher and fleet.
- Exposure to Logistics simulation, first principal cost build up verification and core rig support.
- Assist with project research, field work and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding conduct and adhere to South32 policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
