Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and member-focused Teller to join our team. As a Teller, you will be the first point of contact for our members, providing exceptional service while handling various banking transactions. Your role will involve cash handling, processing deposits and withdrawals, and promoting bank services to enhance member relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs a variety of activities in order to process transactions initiated by members and to provide credit union services to members.
2. Welcomes members to the credit union and provides routine information concerning credit union services in accordance with credit union policies. Receives and directs specific questions to the appropriate departments.
3. Receives and processes current transactions, accepts deposits, processes withdrawals, and receives loan payments for credit union members.
4. Balances cash drawer and makes settlement of day’s activities.
5. Cross-sells credit union services which are of benefit to the members.
6. Receives and processes bank-by-mail transactions.
7. Manages telephone inquiries and requests.
8. Responsible for general typing, filing, computer input and other miscellaneous duties.
9. Follows security controls as outlined in the teller manual.
10. As an ambassador of the Credit Union, is knowledgeable of all products and services and promotes them whenever possible.
11. Performs various other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: No experience necessary.
Skills: Skilled in typing; general office equipment and data processing systems.
Works accurately with figures and performs detailed work of a routine nature.
Traits: Capacity for working well with associates and members. Personable nature and patient attitude, dependability, and initiative.
Physical Demands: Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/or related equipment; eye coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal; stands at teller counter/station to process member transactions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
