Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of students. This position involves working collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment. The School Psychologist will utilize their expertise in crisis intervention, behavioral health, and psychological testing to address the diverse needs of students.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents.
- Provide crisis intervention services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Design and implement safety plans for at-risk students.
- Offer counseling services to support students' mental health and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for improvement.
- Provide training and support for staff on mental health issues, behavioral strategies, and crisis management.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring.
Experience
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field is required.
- Experience in school psychology or a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health practices is essential.
- Familiarity with psychological testing methods and applied behavior analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to mental health conditions.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
