Description
We are seeking a Patient Balance Collector who has strong knowledge in reviewing explanation of benefits, reporting, and deductibles to join our team in Delray Beach, FL. This position is a fully onsite position with the ability to receive bonus on what is collected. If you have a background in back ended collections, please apply to join our team!
- Identifying accounts: Identify delinquent accounts, their aging period, and payment sources
- Contacting patients: Contact patients by phone or mail to notify them of their overdue account and to try to collect payment
- Establishing payment plans: Create payment arrangements with patients to collect overdue amounts
- Monitoring accounts: Monitor payment status and follow up with patients who have missed payments
- Resolving issues: Resolve billing complaints and issues with insurance companies
- Providing customer service: Provide customer service to patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals
- Maintaining records: Maintain records of contacts, payments, and other actions taken to resolve outstanding debt
- Submitting reports: Submit monthly reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress
- Processing refunds: Process patient refunds accurately and timely
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of office experience in medical billing and collections
- Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB's)
- Understanding of copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and denial codes
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize independently
- Ability to multitask
- Proficient customer service skills
Pay: $20/ hour to $25/ hour plus bonus on collections
