What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIS (Federal Inspection Ambassador) Multi-Lingual position at Southeast Airport Services, Inc.?
- You will be working at the Landside and Airside.
- Providing Customer Service and translations to international Passengers
- Communicating with CBP and GOAA management. Federal Inspection Station (FIS) Ambassador:
- You will be working on the Airside:
- The FIS Ambassador provides translation to arriving international passengers. Every day you will be assigned the following duties:
- Completing translations between passengers and CBP officers in passport control and or secondary inspection.
- Organizing lines in the passport control area for international passengers.
- Distributing passengers to correct CBP booths
- Organizing passengers into correct CBP lines - Citizens or Visitors
- Making sure CBP and GOAA instructions are followed.
- Filling GOAA paperwork for the number of passengers on the flight, CBP officer count, and first and last passenger on the flight.
- Additional duties that may be asked if coverage needed:
- Gates: Responsible for communicating the arrival of each international flight to GOAA leads. Communicate flight number, arrival time, gate, and carousel used. The gate agent is also responsible to set the sterile corridor to “International” mode when the flight arrives, and to “Domestic” mode once all passengers and crew members deplane. Monitors the sterile corridor for security breaches, and immediately communicates discrepancies to the lead, SAS Supervisor, and GOAA Supervisor. Once everyone deplanes and the sterile corridor has been set back to domestic mode, proceed to the gate for the next flight..
- Carousels: If needed assist with the delivery of bags into the baggage control area of FIS. Move, arrange, and adjust baggage on the assigned carousel to accommodate additional bags. In case of contingencies, safely move baggage to the next working belt as directed by the GOAA supervisor.
- Recheck: Provide Customer Service to arriving international passengers by providing directions, information, and maintaining passengers flowing through the recheck area.
- The FIS Ambassadors works with U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Officers on the Airside and in Terminal C.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Perform other work-related duties as requested or required.

- Valid Passport or birth certificate
- WORK PERMITS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED for security/badging purposes.
- Able to communicate in English fluently
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/holidays and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to frequently and steadily lift baggage at 90 pounds or above if asked to do so.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn • Customer service driven.
- Must be comfortable and capable of working safely around industrial equipment.
- Ability to pass criminal background check to be badged in secure areas of an airport
