Shift Details
- Part time 0500-2000
- Patrols campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.
- Provides routine comprehensive security services, including:
- Assistance with patient restraint;
- Intervention in disruptions by patients;
- Traffic control;
- Guarding and patrolling physical property;
- Escorting visitors and employees;
- Monitoring systems;
- Orienting and monitoring of personnel working in high-risk areas;
- Investigation of incidents;
- Access control;
- Enforcement of visitor policies;
- Respond to emergencies;
- Respirator fit testing;
- Hazard surveillance surveys;
- Participation in emergency drills; and
- Public assistance requests.
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alaska driver’s license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- IAHSS Basic certification within 3 months
- Six months of security-related experience
- Security policies and procedures
- Effective communication
- Defuse potential security situations, including aggressive individuals
- Exercise good judgement in stressful and emergent situations
