Position Summary: The Administrative Office Assistant/Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing administrative support and exceptional customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors at the District Office. The receptionist is the first point of contact for individuals entering the office and is responsible for managing inquiries, directing calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with general office tasks, and provides clerical assistance to district office secretaries and the central enrollment specialist in special projects and duties as assigned in order to meet the mission, vision and core commitments of the district. This position requires a friendly and kind demeanor, highly effective communication skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced school district environment.
Position Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); additional education or training in office administration is preferred; proficiency with Google Suite programs; demonstrated organizational skills; and proven experience in a receptionist or administrative support role preferably in an educational or public sector setting
Physical Demands: This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motion,s and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens; work is generally in a noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Other Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of the policies, practices, methods, and techniques used in the administrative functions of a district office; thorough knowledge of prescribed school board policies and procedures; thorough skill in oral and written communication; thorough skill using personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment; thorough skill creating and maintaining various electronic and paper records; ability to follow direction from others and to perform related office duties with limited supervision and oversight; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, the School Board, families, elected officials, students, staff, superintendent and the general public. Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and approachable demeanor; strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy office environment; customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing a positive experience for all visitors; ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and handle challenging situations with professionalism. Understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy. Ability to perform duties within the high school office environment and schedule, and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Reliable and consistent attendance.

7:30 am - 4 pm / 5 days per week / 52 weeks per year
