Description
BASIC FUNCTION :
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Central Processing and Loan Operations departments. This includes directing all loan processing, servicing, and documentation activities of consumer and commercial lending to ensure alignment with bank goals. The Director is responsible for maintaining and implementing applicable policies and procedures in accordance with the Bank’s strategies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer, Compliance, and other stakeholders to develop and implement robust policies and procedures for Central Processing and Loan Operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Provide leadership and direction to the Loan Operations team, fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including management, compliance, and audit. Serve as the primary liaison between the department and internal / external auditors and examiners.
Oversee the management and verification of all loan-related ancillary functions, including but not limited to flood insurance, escrow accounting, charge-offs and recoveries, secondary market activities, and regulatory reporting (e.g., CRA, HMDA, 1071).
Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team of loan operations professionals. This includes responsibility for staffing, training, performance management, and optimizing workflow processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Collaborate with executives on strategic staffing plans and resource allocation.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting clear communication, shared understanding of goals, and accountability for results. Proactively address performance gaps and unusual situations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Oversee the management of specialized loan portfolios, including sold loans, employee loans, and CRA loans.
Maintain accurate loan data and records, and provide reports and information to management, auditors, and examiners as needed. Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Consumer Privacy, and Fair Lending regulations.

- Provide leadership and direction to the loan operations team, including talent acquisition, performance management, and professional development.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND TRAINING :
Strong technology skills, including experience with loan origination systems (LOS) and other relevant financial software; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Focus on building strong customer relationships to drive business growth and customer retention.
Thorough understanding of all loan products, policies, procedures, and related regulatory requirements.
General understanding of other bank products and services, particularly as they relate to lending activities.
