What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shine Ministry Operations Associate - Central Ministry position at Southeast Christian Church?
The Shine Ministry is looking for someone to join their team who has a heart for people with disabilities and a gift for organization. This growing ministry is seeking a new team member who enjoys planning events, organizing and taking care of all the details to bring vision into reality. The Operations Associate would be the first point of contact for most families and volunteers when they connect to the Shine Ministry. Responsibilities would include event planning, purchasing, scheduling, curriculum planning and much more. In addition, they would have the opportunity to help in the Shine Café and with other Shine activities.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Volunteer intake, processing and ongoing care
- Partnering with support ministries for purchasing, event planning, communications and more
- Planning and implementing logistics for Shine and Deaf Ministry Events across campuses
- Editing and adapting curriculum for various Shine Ministry Classes
- Develop methods for communicating externally including newsletters and social media posts
- Manage details for large events such as Shine Fall Fest, Camp Freedom and Family Day Camp
- Oversee activities in the Shine Café, Shine Suite or at a Shine class on any Southeast Campus

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A passion for Christ, the Church, ministry, and people affected by disability
- Flexibility to meet ministry needs
- Ability to see a holistic view of Shine Ministry as well as it's relationships w/other ministry areas
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Process-oriented thinking and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Comfortable with technology and social media
- Ability to multitask and remain self-motivated
- Project management skills
Our Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- College degree preferred
- A background in Special Education or a related field would be ideal.
- Event management, ministry and/or project management experience preferred
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one
