Laundry Aide

Full-Time 05:30 - 2:00 pm

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the delivery of clean and sterile linen.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Ensures that the linen supply within the facility is clean and sanitary.
• Responsible for the collection, sorting, drying, folding, stacking, and transporting of laundry and linens.
• Scrubs, soaks, and cleans dirty linens.
• Operates washer and dryers as required.
• Checks condition of linens for worn spots or tears.
• Monitors linen processing to prioritize which items need to be processed first.
• Logs linen usage throughout the District by weighing for production records.
• Keeps linen closets straightened and stocked.
• Tracks inventory and recommends purchase of textiles when needed.
• Cleans laundry area in a safe sanitary manner.
• Restocking of supplies as directed.
• Follows work duty and work assignments as directed by the supervisor.
• Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, and other hazardous substances.
• Follows safety rules and regulations.
• Attends meetings and in-service sessions, as directed.
• Requires regular attendance and punctuality.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not oversee other positions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

• Ability to learn the proper use of laundry supplies and machinery.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
