Description
The Warehouseman II is responsible for loading and unloading all products. It is a front-line operating position that can perform all operations. A Warehouseman II will be responsible for efficiently and accurately handling all materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
- Assists in loading and unloading all products, to required weights, accurately and efficiently using heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, excavators, trucks, forklifts, railcar movers and front-end loaders.
- Operates conveyors, conditioners, hoppers and screening equipment in accordance with customer requirements to ensure the marketability of their products.
- Positions, maintains and cleans, as needed, all equipment associated with the operation.
- Assist in the upkeep and beatification of the outside and inside of the warehouses.
- Provides constant feedback, through open lines of communication with the management team.
- Liaises with the Maintenance manager on the condition and status of all equipment used in the warehouses.
- Contributes to a positive work culture by demonstrating effective communication skills and a motivated work ethic.
- Assists in high stacking of material without sacrificing stowage during vessel operations.
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- Keeps open communication between scale attendant and other warehousemen.
- Maintains commodity inventories in a fashion that ensures product integrity, prevents contamination and makes load out as efficient as possible.
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs on all machines.
- Provide backup to all Metro Ports operations.
- Works nights and weekends.
- Travels to outlying ports, as needed.
- Reports damages and accidents as they occur.
- Maintains compliance of all company policies and safety requirements.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1) year’s work experience handling heavy equipment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to acquire a TWIC card.
- A High School or equivalent diploma, required.
