Position Description
SEEA seeks qualified candidates for a Marketing and Events Senior Associate to support the promotion of SEEA’s work through marketing campaigns and events. This position will work cross-functionally to create content, manage project timelines and deliverables, complete logistical tasks, and creatively engage audiences.
The Marketing and Events Senior Associate will report to the Executive Director and support SEEA’s overall strategy to recruit, engage, and retain stakeholders, including members, sponsors, and event attendees. This position will collaborate across internal and external groups, including program staff, finance, the Board and Its Committees, members, and external vendors.
Core Responsibilities
Marketing
- Create promotional materials that support member recruitment and retention.
- Consistently apply SEEA’s brand strategy and elements throughout marketing campaigns and events.
- Develop content for marketing campaigns and events that articulates the value, benefits, and return on events, products, or services to target audiences.
- Update content on SEEA’s websites as needed.
- Maintain SEEA’s contact list and library of digital assets (templates, collateral, photos).
- Contribute to SEEA’s social media to post timely, relevant announcements/promotions.
- Reliably deliver work products in accordance with the editorial calendar and work plan deadlines.
- Provide copy-editing and proofreading assistance.
Events
- Assist in coordinating SEEA events, including meetings, small group events, Annual Meeting, SE Energy Summit, etc.
- Liaison/communicate with external partners and vendors to ensure a high level of trust and alignment with event goals.
- Develop/execute event and specific marketing outreach/campaigns to ensure high engagement and participation.
- Support the design and development of event collateral, programs, signage, etc.
- Oversee on-site logistics of events and conferences to support staff and achieve event goals/participant satisfaction.
- Oversee the collection and reporting of post-event feedback and evaluations.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree required with Marketing major or emphasis preferred.
- Interest in energy policy, energy efficiency, sustainability, and fairness for all.
- Proven communication skills, including interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication expertise with an aptitude for translating complex information into concise and easily understandable formats.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with others to define the goals, tasks, and processes for executing successful events and marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to manage work for multiple projects concurrently, adapt to shifting priorities, meet project objectives, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Experience with design tools including CANVA, website management, Basic HTML, SEO, CRM/Salesforce, Constant Contact and MailChimp, a plus.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
- Experienced user of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) and able to quickly learn online tools for email marketing, webinars, and event management.

- A strong desire to continue learning and growing, upgrading knowledge and skills, and the ability to accept, learn from, and offer feedback.
Classification & Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt (overtime eligible) position based in Atlanta, GA. SEEA offers a hybrid work environment requiring a minimum two days in the office (T & Th) per week and travel to events and conferences. SEEA offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. The salary starts at $60,900. Successful applicants must demonstrate their legal status to work in the United States.
