What are the responsibilities and job description for the 01 Infection Control Preventionist position at Southeast Georgia Health System Inc?
Essential Responsibilities: This description of job responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
1. Surveillance Rounds: Performs routine surveillance rounds on compliance with hand hygiene practices, isolation precautions, cleaning and disinfection practices, as well as other infection prevention activities
2. Resource on Infection Prevention Practices and Policies: Able to coach team members on best practice for preventing of infections in the acute care setting. Works collaboratively with all hospital departments to develop, maintain, revise and enforce infection prevention policies and procedures.
3. Outbreak surveillance investigation: Analyze and understand hospital outbreak epidemiology and mitigation steps to prevent transmission of hospital pathogens
4. Infection Control Committee Liaison: Part of time that developments and implements the Annual Infection Prevention and Control Plan based on recommendations from and approval of Infection Control Committee.
5. Infection Prevention Process Improvement/Research Assistant: participate in research and data analysis to identify trends and best practices related to infection control, as well as process improvement activities/programs. Maintain current knowledge of infection control guidelines, regulations, and standards.
