Summary : Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, participates in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the delivery of health care services. Provides patient observation, care and assistance using the nursing process of observation, planning, implementing, and evaluation. - Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, effectively manages the care of assigned patients using knowledge, clinical skills, judgment and decision making skills for the specific area.
- Delivers patient care utilizing standardized guidelines of care and appropriate resources, including personnel, services, supplies and equipment.
- Reviews, evaluates and takes appropriate action regarding results of diagnostic tests.
- Administers medications according to Health System policy.
- Assists the RN in collecting patient data to identify and prioritize physical psychosocial and cultural needs in order to develop a plan of care. Provides input in the plan of care and educational plan for the patient.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on interdisciplinary plan of care and recommends revisions to the plan as appropriate.
- Assists with the development and implementation of a patient / family education plan. Documentation meets compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilizes patient care supplies / equipment in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Successfully completes all other duties that may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Graduate of an LPN program
Experience : None required, but preferred. National certification as clinically appropriate preferred.
Licensure : Current licensure to practice as a LPN in the state of Georgia.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : American Heart Association BLS Certification required within first week of orientation and maintained throughout employment. Nursing skills as defined in the law governing the practice of nursing in Georgia. Uses good judgment. Exhibits positive interpersonal skills.
