What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Physician Practices - Administration position at Southeast Georgia Health System?
Identifies and develops new business opportunities defined as appropriate for the practice. Plans, organizes, leads, and directs new services. Defines goals and objectives in accordance with those of the Health System. Develops staff in goal achievement.
Participates in annual budget preparation and manages the practice expenses in accordance with the adopted budget.
Manages resources to ensure efficient, high quality services for the customers served by the practice.
Ensures conformity to federal, state and local regulatory requirements, for the successful management of the practice.
Evaluates practice efficiencies and develops and implements improvement plans.
Analyzes current and historical statistical trends including operating performance, special projects and strategic contract initiatives.
Acts as a liaison to facilitate solutions and provide needs assessments between internal departments, external payers, medical staff and Administration.
Prepares and distributes quarterly provider productivity records to include the maintenance of physician productivity benchmarking models.
Manages the implementation and monitoring of practice policies and procedures which support the organization's goals and business objectives.
Ensures clinical reimbursement processes/procedures are set up and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards; monitors financial benchmarks and quality control programs.
Screens, hires, and supervises staff; evaluates employee performance and provides guidance and feedback to assigned staff.
Monitors/ensures patient satisfaction within the practices; monitors and participates in team members/physician scheduling.
Participates in conflict resolution which may involve physicians or team members.
Experience
Preferred- BA or BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience required. 3-5 years experience in physician practice management required. Demonstrated knowledge of professional billing, coding, and reimbursement guidelines. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory standards.
