What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Supply Tech II position at Southeast Georgia Health System?
Actively supports the daily operations of supply chain functions within Surgical Services and all procedural areas. Monitors stock and orders at established par levels to prevent shortages and expedited shipping fees. Works with department leadership/ designee(s) to identify replacement items for back orders and desired alternatives.
Performs data entry to order surgical supplies and ensure items are appropriately charged/credited from stock to the unit, department, or patient account as appropriate. Creates and maintains the surgical services supply items in the item master in the various electronic systems utilized by the Health System.
Maintains inventory listings, order guides, and product labeling for assigned areas. Establishes appropriate par levels to ensure clinical availability in a fiscally responsible manner.
Works with surgical services leadership and physicians in ordering physician preference medical and or surgical products via established organizational processes. Reviews the surgical posting sheets and the procedural schedule on a daily basis to ensure supplies, equipment and resources are stocked and available as required for posted/add-on cases. Coordinate supplies and equipment needs with the surgical services leadership/designee(s).
Prepares and distributes surgical case carts according to physician preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team. Responds to phone and/or in person requests from clinical team members by locating and delivering commodities to surgery or the requesting department in a timely manner.
Assists with daily, annual and periodic inventory counts using and following established processes. Inventories, receives, monitors and distributes surgical supplies as needed for patient care.
Monitors supply par levels, package/supply integrity, all expiration dates, and arranges for alternative items due to back order, or other exceptions to daily operations. Coordinates with surgical services team for recalled products researching, responding, and removing product as necessary.
Assists with long-term and short-term special projects as assigned by procedural services and supply chain leadership.

Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): 2 years experience in Materials / Supply Chain Management or equivalent preferred
