Job Description Summary
Complete work requestors generated manually and/or by computer to be completed in a timely manner to assure patient satisfaction. Must be able to perform preventive maintenance on the sterilizer and all equipment pertaining to the sterilizer room and learn how to correct or get assistance in correcting a problem. Must be able to maintain cart wash by knowing how to clean and add chemicals as needed to insure the carts are clean and sterilized. Must be able to complete all equipment logs in sterilizer room and waste pick-up and transfer to proper locations and be able to learn to do maintenance on sterilizer.Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent. General computer knowledge. Work rotating shifts, weekends, and days. Ability to wear face respirator. Valid drivers’ license. Ability to pass forklift operator certification.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to utilize the Internet, extranet and email. Ability to utilize radio and paging system.
SKILLS:
Will learn to make all rounds in hospital as required for sharps, chest tubes boxes and all call-in work request. Must be able to separate all waste according to State and Stericycle regulations. Must know what labels to put on waste containers. Will be able to operate the autoclave sterilizer and fill out log sheets and log book for loads ran and enter spore test results. Will make sure all paper work is turned into office. Must show proper skills in handling forklift in all operations of waste handling and cardboard pick-up. Must keep the sterilizer room, equipment, and all surrounding area clean and sterilized everyday. This means ground and building at the CEP location. Must learn to use the hot water pressure washer. Must know how to wash the red bins before returning to service.
