QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks. Must have reliable and insured transportation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician certification or license.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug names.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer literacy and experience with pharmacy management systems.
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes and third-party prescription plans.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
- Measure medications accurately and ensure proper labeling of prescriptions.
- Prepare prescription orders under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain patient records and update information as required.
- Manage inventory and ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies.
- Adhere to pharmacy regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns.
- Assist in the billing and processing of insurance claims.
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary information and authorizations are obtained
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing, ensuring proper labeling and instructions are provided
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
