What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vaccines for Children Coordinator position at Southeast Louisiana AHEC?
Southeast Louisiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC), in conjunction with the Louisiana Office of Public Health, Immunization Program (IZ), is currently seeking an individual for the position of Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program Vaccine Coordinator. This position performs complex, often specialized duties in accordance with rules, regulations, and policies of OPH and the Immunization Program and will support the Vaccine Procurement and Distribution Manager. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, following procedural guidelines and processes for vaccine management with vaccine manufacturers and assisting the Vaccine Manager with enrolling, inputting, tracking and deactivating VFC program providers. The Coordinator will also assist in packaging and distribution of vaccines, immunization supplies, and other materials.
A successful candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and a working knowledge of personal computers and various software programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Access. A bachelor's degree is required, but a master's degree in Public Health is preferable. A copy of a college transcript may be required, as well as the ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
