Description
The housekeeper performs various functions in ensuring that the healthcare facility is free from infection, waste and debris.
Requirements
- Respond to emergencies in relation to cleaning clinic environment
- Clean and wipe windows, floors, etc.
- Dispose of wastes in wastebaskets as well as disinfect the wastebaskets
- Appropriately dispose of medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face mask, etc.
- Clean furniture as well as equipment
- Dispose of blood or other body fluids and then disinfect the area of contact
- Use various types of cleaning equipment to maintain a sterile and infection free work environment
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong hygienic practice
- The ability to take the initiative and execute with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the process of sterilizing work environment
- Proven ability and/or inclination to follow instructions
- Ability to maintain a positive disposition at all times
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
