Position Summary
Assistant Coach - Volleyball
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
Full Time/Term
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists the head coach with all areas of managing a volleyball program including, but not limited to, coaching volleyball student-athletes in any and all positions, scouting opponents, recruiting high-level prospective student athletes, working knowledge of video editing software, team travel planning, game management, managing and coaching camps, and supervising student managers.
- Guides and mentors student-athletes throughout the academic year
- Performs administrative duties related to the volleyball program
- Promotes Southeast Missouri State University and the athletics program through community involvement
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated successful collegiate volleyball coaching and/or playing experience
- Demonstrated ability to motivate student-athletes academically and athletically
- Ability to demonstrate and teach advanced skills, knowledge, and strategies required for a high-level collegiate volleyball program
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA regulations
- Demonstrated ability to recruit qualified student-athletes
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours including travel, both in-state and out-of-state, for purposes of evaluating and contacting recruits
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, faculty, community and media
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
