Primary Responsibilities :
- Supervise and mentor assigned subordinate staff, ensuring proper performance of duties and compliance with departmental standards
- Assist with shift briefings, training initiatives, and performance evaluations to support professional development
- Address personnel issues, investigate misconduct allegations, and ensure resolution in alignment with department policies
- Educate staff on municipal ordinances, state statutes, and emerging police technology or methodologies
- Facilitate and audit the preparation of reports, warrant packages, and departmental records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with legal and law enforcement partners, including testifying in court when necessary
- Perform regular police officer duties and contribute to special projects as assigned
- Review police documentation and conduct inspections of personnel, equipment, and overall operations
- Enforce strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures
- Actively engage with the community, participating in public presentations and outreach initiatives
- Operate under the authority and direction of the Captain, contributing to the overall mission of the department
- Work assigned rotating shifts to maintain operational coverage
- Direct and communicate tactical law enforcement plans in response to various incidents, including emergency situations
- Maintain a valid driver's license
Required Qualifications
Required Background Check : Must successfully pass all Assessments, Pre-Employment Testing, and Post-Offer Testing which at a minimum will include a criminal background check, polygraph exam and drug testing. Must be 21 years of age, a United States citizen, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence convictions. Failure to pass will result in the employment offer being revoked.
