APP Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the SERO location at Atrium Health – Lancaster Radiation Therapy Center located at 1005 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.
The Advanced Practice Provider will assist in the implementation of the health care plan and the management of radiation oncology patients by performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks as defined and approved by the supervising physician(s).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physician on new outpatient and inpatient consultations, including reviewing health history, labs, imaging, notes, and contributing to plan of care. This also includes explaining cancer staging, treatment plan, logistics and side effects of radiation therapy with patients. In addition, prepare documentation prior to consultation with HPI, assessment, and plan (known as "chart note").
- Work with other specialties, particularly in the oncology service line, to coordinate patient care regarding treatment plans or follow-up when needed.
- See patients in follow-up clinic and manage ongoing follow-up when needed, i.e. ordering follow-up imaging and labs.
- Manage acute side effects of radiation therapy during and after radiation therapy.
- Attend weekly tumor board meetings and monthly APP meetings.
- Scheduled on-call service for 1 week at a time.
