Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and a desire to inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching various dance styles, fostering creativity, and promoting a love for dance in a supportive environment. The Dance Instructor will work closely with students to develop their skills, confidence, and appreciation for the art of dance.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to the skill levels of students.
- Teach various dance styles, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, Dance Team (pom) to ages 7.5-teen.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and focus during lessons.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their technique and performance.
- Organize and participate in recitals, showcases, and other performance opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to create a cohesive curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Stay updated on current trends in dance education and incorporate new techniques into lessons.
- Create choreography for Christmas & end-of-season Showcases.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dance instruction is preferred.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles is beneficial for working with younger students.
- A passion for dance and the ability to inspire others through movement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with students of all ages.
