What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at Southeast Texas Child Guidance Center?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. New graduates welcome to apply. No prior psychiatric/mental health experience is necessary – the supervising physician and other providers will assist in training upon starting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an office setting. Our psychiatry practice primarily provides psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and delivering transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy for treatment resistant depression. We utilize the NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System to treat patients suffering from treatment depression. New nurse practitioners will also be provided training on the NeuroStar device and will be expected to assist in the initial mapping sessions for patients starting TMS therapy. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively assess, diagnose, and treat patients while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Pay: $60.00 - $67.00 per hour (based on experience) Opportunities for Incentive Bonuses.

- Conduct thorough patient assessments and mental health examinations, including reviewing patient’s historical records and lab results.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic mental health conditions.
- Provide psychiatric care services, including routine follow-up visits with patients, and prescribing medications in accordance to the patient’s care plan as decided upon between you and the supervising physician.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform procedures such as mapping TMS therapy patients (training will be provided).
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, treatment compliance, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the medical office setting.
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
