Operations Manager - Warehouse Unloading Operations
Our company is looking for a self-directed, customer service-driven leader to oversee a team of truck unloaders within a distribution center. The ideal candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate the daily operations and unloading of trucks in a warehouse owned by our customer. Food or grocery warehouse experience is a plus.
70,000-$80,000 depending on experience
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum 3 years of warehouse management experience
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and unloading procedures
- Experience with managing budgets and ability to create and maintain various management reports
- Intermediate computer experience, ideally with Microsoft products; specifically Microsoft Excel
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- College degree preferred but not required
ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Scheduling of personnel based on client needs and scheduleEnsuring safety in the workplace and efficiency as prioritiesInteract daily with the customers to ensure effective communicationCreating daily work logs and transmission of data to corporateCreating various reports and distribution of those reportsAuditing of daily labor and billing reportsHandling deposits and cashOverseeing human resources-related matters, including recruitment, training, file maintenance and confidentiality, employee coaching, conflict resolution, progressive discipline, worker's comp and adherence to state and federal requirementsOther duties as deemed necessaryMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The ability to operate independently with minimal supervisionThe ability to make decisions, problem-solve, prioritize and direct the workforce in an ever-changing, warehouse environmentExcellent multi-tasking skillsBeing adept at seeing the "big picture" as well the small detailsStands, bends, stoops, squats, reaches, twists, and otherwise moves continuously during the workdayFrequently walks throughout the workdayOccasionally reaches above shoulder level to lift or otherwise move objects that weigh 30 50 poundsOccasionally pushes and pullsFunctions and operates comfortably in a very active fast-paced environmentEndures extreme temperatures of heat and coldWithstands loud noise and distractionsTimely and regular physical attendance is required to properly manage the unloading processOnce selected for hire, successful applicants will be required to :
