Sounds Good? (We think so too!) Here is what you would do:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed.
- Foster innovation in program development, ensuring that offerings are engaging, impactful, and responsive to evolving trends in youth and family services.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. This includes the development of Adventure Guides, Youth &Government, Model United Nations, and off-site Youth Enrichment.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and development within the team. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, local agencies, and other stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of YMCA youth and family programs.
- Represent the YMCA in relevant community forums, advocating for the needs of youth and families.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, organizes and schedules program registrations
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and fiscal accountability.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs
- Develop and implement effective evaluation methodologies to assess program outcomes and impact.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions for program improvement and growth.
- Collaborate with other YMCA departments to create integrated programming that aligns with the YMCA's holistic approach to youth and family development.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Youth and Family Services department and throughout the organization, promoting an environment that is welcoming and inclusive for all.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in youth and family services, with aproven track record of program development and management.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles, family dynamics, and community needs.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations and community partnerships is a plus.
