About Us

Southeast Veterinary Neurology (SEVN) is one of the United States’ largest independently and veterinarian owned neurology groups. Neurology isn’t just something we offer. We are a single-specialty practice exclusively treating diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles all day, every day.

Our mission is to keep families together by providing second chances to pets with neurological disease and hope to the people who love them through compassionate neurological care to patients, empathetic service to pet parents, and humble expertise to the veterinary community.

Over the next decade, our goal is to keep 70,000 families whole, ensuring their beloved pets not only survive but thrive despite neurological disease; provide the ultimate workplace experience for our team, being known for our culture of growth, collaboration, and support; and become the undisputed leader in veterinary neurology, pushing the boundaries of our field and redefining the standards of care.

This is where you come in. To help us accomplish our mission and goals, we are looking for talented, motivated, and humble team players to join

About You

You’ll be a technician who is kind, warm hearted and loves to get hands on with some of the less glamorous parts of the role of being a technician. Our ICU nurses are responsible for a lot of things in the hospital, so you’ll have a wide basic skillset to draw on for patients and will stop at nothing to help them recover.

You’ll be someone who has a very good eye for detail, you can spot when something’s not right and you have the confidence to say so. When it comes to getting things done, you probably love a process or checklist so that things are done right and at a high standard.

You have learned to be a technically competent and conscientious technician with a minimum of two years of experience in general practice (or a specialty setting). You are adept at multitasking and can perform well under the normal to the high pressures of a veterinary hospital.

You may have reached what feels like a plateau and are ready for your next move. Or you may be ready to take a step back from a multispecialty practice and focus on a single specialty. This may be an area you might have considered working in before, and you might even feel a little bit intimidated by the thought of making such a move. Perhaps you’ve asked yourself questions like, “am I really good enough?” Don’t let this be the reason not to apply.

Finally, you’ll be someone who likes to proactively contribute to a stable and happy team working environment. If you have an issue with someone or something, you’re more inclined to have a composed conversation regarding your concerns. You are not the sort of person who gossips or undermines relationships around you. In short, you want to work in a cohesive team where people work together, not fight with each other.

About The Role

The work you’ll be helping us do at Southeast Veterinary Neurology matters because we do amazing things like help paralyzed animals walk again so they can continue enjoying life with their families. In our case, sometimes what we do really is brain surgery! (Don’t worry, we don’t do rocket science – NASA and SpaceX are a few hours north, so we leave that to them).

The work we do is both challenging and intense because neurology requires us to pay attention to the details and work at a high standard. The stakes are high, but due to the professionalism and dedication of the team, we get the best payback of all, to reunite animals and their families, and experience the joy of seeing a loved family pet walk again. It’s an amazing thing to experience and your work will be a huge part of this transformation.

Our Overnight Veterinary Technician’s focus will be in our treatment room where they will be primarily:

  • Preparing and administering medications (oral and injectable) and completing specific treatments for each patient as directed.
  • Monitoring all hospitalized patients throughout the night (including all pre and post op patients), consulting with neurologists on patient status.
  • Answering after-hours phone calls and triaging over the phone.
  • Assist with admission of new patients by placing IV catheters, collecting blood/urine as needed for testing.
  • Taking digital x-rays and assisting veterinary neurologists with MRI and CT
  • Performing general patient husbandry by preparing food, taking patients out for walks, performing bladder expressions and bathing as needed.

The shifts we are looking to fill are Friday-Monday overnight , but we can discuss 3x12 hour shifts from Saturday-Monday as well.

Qualified candidates must be able to:

  • Have had 3 years of experience working in general or specialty practice
  • Multi-task in a fast paced working environment
  • Maintain a high level of organization and communication
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Provide consistent quality customer service to every client and patient
  • Accurately process invoices and payments when services are rendered as needed
