What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Leader 12-Hour position at SOUTHEASTERN CONTAINER?
We are a progressive manufacturer of PET beverage bottles, supplying the Coca-Cola bottling system on the East Coast and in the Midwest. We have a proven track record of stability and sustained growth over the past 30 years, and are looking for candidates for the following position:
Team Leader
(Pay will be determined by level of responsibility. Some Team Leaders will be responsible for only blowmolding operations; a higher pay level is in place for Team Leaders who have responsibility for both blowmolding and injection operations, or for Team Leaders who have responsibility for injection only facilities.)
REPORTS TO: General Manager, Operations Manager, or Manufacturing Plant Manager
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for leading a production team to a high level of performance. Effectively train and guide the team to allow them to achieve high performance in a team environment. Provide them with the information, tools, and resources required to optimize safety and production results. Interact with Team Leaders and all team members to achieve a high level of trust and respect among the production group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Communicate information to the team on safety, business issues, production requirements and performance results. Responsible for shift team safety, production and quality performance.
2. Assist the team with communication with internal or external teams on any issues, problems or concerns. Help with problem identification and resolution. Develop the team members into a high performance work team with an emphasis on continual improvement in the areas of attitude, safety, quality, efficiency and cost containment, job knowledge and performance, interpersonal skills and team skills.
3. Support the team by assisting with planning and procurement of necessary resources. Assist in the development and/or modification of Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Assist team members with process related issues. Maintain knowledge of production processes and equipment to be an effective resource for training and problem solving. Monitor the accuracy and timely completion of reporting all process related data.
5. Assist the team with data collection, self-evaluation, and development of team goals. Review team performance results compared to goals and help team determine corrective action when needed.
6. Provide guidance and support to the team when selecting Team Coordinators. Assist the coordinators in their roles as needed. Assist Administrative Manager with selection of new team members through the hiring process as requested.
7. Ensure that all team members have access to all necessary training. Work with the Team Coordinator on team member training as needed. Provide growth and development opportunities for the Team Coordinator.
8. Perform any necessary disciplinary action and performance reviews. Assure compliance with company policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
9. Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager or Operations Manager. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.
