Are you passionate about helping individuals in need and making a positive impact in your community? Southeastern Directions for Life in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Transition House Manager to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support and guidance to individuals transitioning out of crisis situations and help them rebuild their lives.
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation of a residential facility and managing the staff within that area. Duties include interviewing, training, and scheduling new staff, while fostering effective working relationships between team members and the individuals supported. The role also requires maintaining positive communication with other departments. Southeastern operates 24/7, year-round, so flexibility in the event of emergencies or inclement weather is essential. The position requires availability on weekends and holidays when necessary, including covering open shifts.
In addition, the Residential Manager is responsible for the facility's upkeep and daily operations. As part of the multidisciplinary team, this role involves carrying out rehabilitation, support services, and assisting with treatment, including substance abuse services, education, and support. The Residential Manager must be deeply committed to providing services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI). The ability to establish supportive, trusting relationships with individuals who have co-occurring diagnoses is crucial, as is a strong respect for clients' rights and personal preferences in treatment.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in social work, psychology, or a related field, as well as experience working with individuals facing crisis situations. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Most importantly, you must have a genuine desire to help others and make a positive impact in their lives.
