Overview
As a Linehaul Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring Linehaul Drivers comply with programs and policies governing the reporting of hours worked, the maintenance of mileage Log, safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and take corrective action if drivers fail to comply. You will coordinate with Central Dispatch and the Outbound Operations Manager on a daily/nightly basis regarding the timely movement of scheduled freight. Also responsible for the supervision of the Linehaul clerical staff.
Responsibilities
Direct the work of Linehaul Drivers and clerical staff, determining workloads for drivers and distributes the clerical work amongst the staff. Coordinate Linehaul activity to effectively utilize equipment and personnel while meeting Company and customer requirements and minimizing costs. Communicate assignments received from Central Dispatch to the drivers, lead the drivers in IQ workgroups, and assist Central Dispatch with driver-to-load scheduling decisions. Notify Central Dispatch of available Linehaul Drivers and freight volume to be moved from the Service Center to other locations. Receive daily linehaul schedule identifying driver-to-load assignments from Central Dispatch and Communicate to Linehaul Drivers. Assist Central Dispatch with driver-to-load assignments. Prioritize loads with highest bill count on the earliest schedule to allow for optimal arrival patterns at destination. Assist in the interviewing and selection of Linehaul Drivers and Linehaul clerical associates.
Qualifications
For this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of 2 years of Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight experience and/or business leadership experience.
